Thanks for taking an interest in submitting. If you want to cut to the chase, you can submit a book review or ask us questions by using the form below. For the details of what to include, check our guidelines.
Right now, we’re mostly looking for book reviews. They don’t need to be formal or rigorous: they should take an hour or less to write, and if you jot down a few notes while you read, they’ll take even less time. We’re happy to help you out along the way, just drop us a line.
We can’t currently afford to pay you, but as a token of our appreciation, we’re giving away free beer koozies to anyone who writes us a review: details here. We’re developing other giveaways for people who write more reviews, so stay tuned. We’ve found that reviewing books increases the amount you read and keeps you engaged, too; we’re guessing if you’ve read this far, you’d consider those good things.
If you’re interested in writing a review, you can check out our guidelines for the technical stuff, and you might also want to read a little about the goal of our book reviews and the way we choose Great Reads. You might also find it useful to read a few reviews from our archives. However, don’t let the specifics slow you down: we’ll be happy to help you out with details if you send us questions, or a draft.
We’d also be happy to get guest blog posts. If you’d like to submit something, you can email us with any questions, or just send the submission directly. We’ll also take a look at stories, poems, creative nonfiction, or anything else, for a magazine we’re aiming to start releasing in the fall.
If you don’t want to formally submit something, please feel free to comment on any post or review that intrigues you. We’re opinionated, but friendly, and we’re always interested to hear from those who disagree (or agree, of course).
