Find your next favorite book
If you’re looking for a good book, check out our Great Reads section; it’s where we put the best books we review, along with a few favorite classics. You can find it in the top nav bar.
You can also try our Special Features page; find it in the second row of the nav bar.
On the Special Features page, you’ll find descriptions of our different book-related series, like I Loved This Book When…, Literary Beach Books, and The Best Books of 2009. Each one recommends some great books that we love. Click a title to browse the posts in that series.
If you’re interested in a particular genre, hover your mouse over the Book Reviews box in the nav bar, and click on that genre from the drop-down menu.
You can also browse all our book reviews by clicking that top Book Reviews link.

Find things to eread
If you’re looking for a downloadable ebook to read on an ereader or smartphone, check out our page about getting ebooks under the Find things to eread tab in the second nav bar. There you’ll find databases of public domain ebooks, websites that offer free ebooks, a few of our favorite ebookstores, and a quick guide to borrowing ebooks from libraries.
If you’re looking for fiction or poetry to read right now, on your screen, try the suggestions on our page, The Best Places to Read Online. There you’ll find links to and descriptions of our favorite online lit mags and other writing repositories.
~~~~~
Find book-related silliness
You can find all our less serious book-related posts and features by clicking The Back Page in the nav bar.
You can also filter Back Page content by clicking on links in the drop-down menu, including book reviews in haiku, and the wildly popular Judge a Book by Its Cover.
~~~~~
Find essays, columns, and opinions
You can find our essays about books and ebooks through, believe it or not, the Essays tab in the top nav bar.
You can find our regular columns on the right-hand side of the top nav bar: click the words Columns to see all of them.
You can also browse the archives of a single column, like Armchair Detective, by selecting its name from the drop-down menu.
Chamber Four isn’t a news site, but when we post shorter reactions to news, you can find them in the Blog section, in the top nav bar.
We also link to articles and posts that interest us on our Twitter feed. Follow us here to see what we’re reading.
