Glad this helped. The Sony Reader software is pretty bad, so be warned about that, but Sean, our managing editor, found a PRS-300 on eBay for $85 the other day, so that deal might be worth the headache. 

You might want to take a look at the Kobo, too, which has the same bare-minimum feature set.</description>

Thanks for your comments.  I&#039;ve been trying to decide which reader is right for me, and what you say is direct and to the point.  I, like you, do not need updating to newspapers, pictures. and dislike the limitations of the Kindle.  Although I like to make notes on some books I am reading, I realize this is not a possibility with most reasonably priced ereaders.  Thank you again.</description>
