While Nico’s on hiatus, we’ll try our best to keep up with the Wednesday links. We’ve been having some techinical troubles so far this week, so I’ve kept this one short (since I was worried I might not even be able to post it). Bear with us while we work out the kinks: we can’t all be all-star internet scourers of Nico’s caliber.
- Lot’s of ereader stuff this week, which Nico already posted about and you’ve likely already seen. If you wanted one of the new readers but are wary of Sony’s lackluster Mac support (also a link to a post by Nico), there is now a workaround for you Mac users who really want a Sony Reader. And in case you were wondering, David Byrne hates Kindle’s DRM, but the Today Show loves super-author Jenna Bush.
- Disney bought Marvel for billions, making shareholders richer and comic fans a bit nervous. Also in picture books, over at fangamer an impressive book of Mother fan service hits the interwebs (and warms the cockles of my dorky heart).
- Here’s a sad story about copyright bullies, a sadder one, and a happy piece about the reinvigoration of storytelling in writing (not everyone agrees). The Guardian announced the longlist for their first book award. If you want to win an award of your own, Golden Pencil has their weekly list of ways. Here’s a fun list of collective nouns gathered up by Jason Kottke.
