Just finished this book: your review encapsualtes the essence of the book. But I am left feeling that Lucas did infact die as a child, and everything else is smoking mirrors and illusion on the part of the surviving twin. The fascinating bit about this book is this illusion within illusion (a bit like Calvino’s If a treveller on a winters night…)which allows the reader to come up with their own version of events.

Good review, but frustrating, as the book is out of print and unavailable to purchase for a reasonable price.
